Meet the Owner
Hi! I'm Jessica!
Originally from Texas, I eventually made my way through Dallas, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia working in office management before relocating to Roanoke when my husbands job brought us to this beautiful town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. What started as a new place to call home quickly became a place I absolutely fell in love with. Today, Roanoke is home to me, may family of 4 and our 2 pets.

Not long after landing in Roanoke, Pet Pals was born. I started this business because I've always loved animals and loved to travel - but I didn't love the stress and worry that came with leaving my own pets behind. I wanted to create the kind of pet care experience that gave pet parents peace of mind while making sure their pets were happy, loved, and well cared for in their absence.

I started Pet Pals as a one-woman show. After having kids, I quickly realized that building a reliable team was essential to balancing family life while running a thriving business. Today, I am incredibly proud to have a team I trust completely. In fact, I'd trust every member of my team to walk through my own front door and care for my pets while I'm away - and that means everything to me.

At the heart of Pet Pals, is my passion for helping pets live their very best lives. Whether that means a mid-day walk, an adventure, some much needed playtime, or simply having a trusted person there when their family cant be. I believe pets deserve more than just having their basic needs met. They deserve companionship, enrichment, exercise, and the opportunity to thrive.

In 2027, we’re celebrating 24 years in business. While we’re proud of how incredibly far we've come, we're never finished learning, growing, and finding ways to provide even better care. Our goal is simple: to continue raising the bar for professional dog walking and pet care in the Roanoke Valley while treating every pet as if they were our own. HIRING & TRAINING MANAGER
A member of the Pet Pals team for seven years, Connie retired from Allstate Insurance Co. after 30+ years. She has a grown daughter and two awesome grandkids. Family is very important to her, including her dog. She can’t imagine life without pets!

OPERATIONS MANAGER
Kelly Perry is thrilled to be celebrating eight years with Pet Pals! She’s a mother of two teenage boys along with a basset hound and tuxedo cat. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, coloring, going to the beach and hitting the farmer’s market.

Nama has lived in the Salem/Roanoke area for most of her life. She has grown up with dogs and loves to spend time with all kinds of animals. Outside of entertaining her own wild rescue pup Frankie, she loves to draw and bake. She is a 2nd year student at Virginia Western gearing up to transfer into a social work major.

Anna has lived in the Roanoke area for 5 years and has always had a deep love for animals of all kinds. From dogs, cats to backyard chickens, caring for animals is a big part of her life! In her spare time she enjoys baking, all things creative and exploring the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

A Botetourt native who moved back home to her family farm after spending 10 years living in Asheville, NC. When she's not walking or training dogs, you'll find her outside hiking, swimming or roadtripping with her dogs. She loves balancing all adventures with her homebody side: curled up with a good book and cup of coffee.

After 25 years in the fashion biz, Stephanie traded in her heels for dog walking shoes and is livin’ her best life! Chances are, you know someone who’s adopted one of her 61 foster pups. When not walking your dogs, she’s likely walking one of her own.

Gwynn moved to Roanoke in 2003 to be close to family. She comes to us from Unleashed, a staple in downtown for 10+ years until they closed their doors in 2025. She's a proud dog and cat mom. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her niece & nephew, attending local festivals and volunteering at her church.

Jane is a former librarian who has lived with cats since she was 5 years old. After marrying a dog person, they added a Collie to the mix. She is a client of Pet Pals and now also a member of our team! She loves meeting new animals and their parents.
